Liability Risk for After Hours Use of Public School Property to Reduce Obesity: South Carolina

This memorandum summarizes South Carolina law governing liability for after-hours recreational use of school facilities.

It should be read with this project’s overview memorandum, which can be found at www.nplan.org/nplan/products/liabilitysurvey. Our goal is to inform lawyers advising school districts considering whether to open school facilities (or keep facilities open) for recreational use as part of an effort to reduce childhood obesity.
