Operations Coordinator
Diahn Nevares serves as the Operations Coordinator. In this role she provides key support for the organization in ensuring the smooth operations of many aspects of the Safe Routes Partnership. Diahn carries out several human resources and operations support tasks, serves as the point of contact for the organization’s technical platforms, and provides administrative and programmatic support to the organization’s staff.
In conjunction with working as the Operations Coordinator for the Safe Routes Partnership, Diahn also serves as a Safe Routes to School Champion with the Las Cruces Public Schools Safe Routes to School Program (SRTS) in New Mexico. She has been a Champion for almost a decade and is committed to working in a capacity that promotes safe walking and biking, encourages physical activity, and builds healthy communities. As an SRTS Champion, she is responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of the SRTS program, including program administration, marketing/outreach, education and training, event promotion, volunteer coordination, and program evaluation within schools. The Safe Routes to School Program uses a comprehensive approach to improve equity, education, encouragement, engineering, enforcement, and evaluation within communities. Prior to working with the LCPS SRTS program, she worked at New Mexico State University, as a Financial Aid Advisor, where she processed and awarded federal and state financial aid, evaluated student academic progress, advocated student appeals, and assisted in student recruitment.
As a Crimson Honor graduate at New Mexico State University, with a BA in Social Work and a minor in Psychology, she has a strong allegiance to improving the health and well-being of children and families. She currently resides in New Mexico and enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends in the “Land of Enchantment.”
