Results of Cycle 6 of the Active Transportation Program
Cycle 6 of California’s Active Transportation Program (ATP), staff recommendations for which were announced on October 20, was an exceptional one. An infusion of funds from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), brought the baseline of funds from the $444 million per cycle that existed…
ATP Cycle 6 Closed and Augmentation
The deadline for ATP Cycle 6 passed on June 15. 434 applications were received, 20 fewer than in Cycle 5. That drop is much smaller than the decrease of 100 from Cycle 4 to Cycle 5, however, so we are cautiously optimistic that the size of the applicant pool is beginning to stabilize. According to…
ATP Augmentation and Cycle 6 Funding

ATP Cycle 5 Boosted by $500 million
Last month, we wrote about a letter we and our allies had sent requesting a $1 billion augmentation from the General Fund surplus.
