Description:

Communities around the country are increasingly focusing on walking, bicycling and Safe Routes to School as elected officials and practitioners shape the future of transportation policy. How should communities in car-centric Southern California build on that momentum?

In this webinar, representatives from the City of San Clemente will detail their collaborative relationships that lead to the APA-California’s Award of Merit for the city’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan/Mobility and Complete Streets Element.

You’ll hear from the Orange County Transportation Authority’s Board of Directors Vice Chair/San Clemente City Councilmember, the city’s transportation engineering manager, Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Project Manager, and California’s 2014 American Planning Association Advocate of the Year. Tune in to hear how preparation, persistence, patience, and positive thinking propelled Orange County’s Spanish Village by the Sea to be a role model for success in building community partnerships that will lead to a multimodal future.

Anyone encouraging active transportation as safe and viable modes of travel is encouraged to attend this unique opportunity to hear from a few of the best in Southern California.

  • Lori Donchak, San Clemente City Councilwoman/OCTA Vice Chair
