Support our campaign to increase Active Transportation Program funding and key legislation that will benefit Safe Routes to School, walking, and bicycling at two exciting events in Sacramento! This is a key year to advance active transportation with lots of attention on transportation issues and climate change – policymakers need to hear from you about the needs in your community. We invite you to join Safe Routes to School National Partnership staff and our partners for these advocacy opportunities:
April 27-28, Embassy Suites, 100 Capitol Mall, Sacramento
Connect and strategize with hundreds of activists, agency officials, transit riders, and Californians who walk, bicycle, and care about our environment at TransForm’s annual Transportation Choices Summit. This year’s sessions feature leaders who are pioneering safe bicycling initiatives, Los Angeles’ Subway to the Sea, San Francisco’s Vision Zero policy, smart growth in San Diego, high speed rail, and much more. TransForm is also going to unveil some great new tools to help you advocate for climate protection and sustainability.
Plan to attend the panel on increasing funding for the Active Transportation Program – Safe Routes to School National Partnership staff are co-presenting with our partners at the California Bicycle Coalition, California Walks, PolicyLink, Leadership Counsel for Justice and Accountability, and the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy.
Stick around on April 28 for the optional Advocacy Day in the Capitol.
