WEBINAR: New Funding for Active Transportation

On Friday, August 8 from 1:00-2:00pm PST the Safe Routes to School National Partnership’s California Network is hosting a free webinar.

New Funding for Active Transportation:
The Affordable Housing & Sustainable Communities Program

The state Strategic Growth Council received $130 million this year in Cap-and-Trade funding to create a new Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program. The program guidelines will be developed quickly over the next several months, and active transportation will be a key component of the program in addition to affordable housing and transit-oriented development. Supporting health and equity co-benefits will also be critical priorities for AHSC grants.

This webinar will describe key opportunities for active transportation in the new program. Top agency leaders who are integral in crafting the guidelines will outline the basics of the program, goals, project eligibility, agency roles, and the timeline for the guidelines process. Successful case studies of projects funded through the Transit Oriented Development and Infill Infrastructure Grant Program will be presented.
