OCTA’s Citizens Advisory Committee: Pedestrian Priorities

The Orange County Transportation Authority’s (OCTA’s) Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), subcommittee on Bicycle and Pedestrian finalized suggested pedestrian priorities at the end of February, read here: OCTA CAC Pedestrian Priorities_FINAL_2.20.14

OCTA convenes broad-based, geographically representative committees that are appointed by the OCTA Board of Directors. The mission of the Citizens Advisory Committees are to provide advice and recommendations to the OCTA for reaching the greatest possible public consensus concerning Orange County transportation matters. The Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee is one of these committees created by the Board of Directors. Join the conversation in future meetings, agendas posted here!

The major responsibilities of CACs include:

  • Identifying opportunities for community input
  • Recommending mechanisms and methodologies for obtaining public opinion on specific transportation issues
  • Serving as a liaison between the public and OCTA
  • Commenting on significant transportation issues and suggesting possible solutions
