Transportation for America, East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice, and Coalition for a Safe Environment invite you to a public health workshop:

Federal and State Transportation Planning for Public Health: How to Win Reform

This collaborative workshop is intended for professionals, advocates, and organizations with a public health focus. It will address the benefits of establishing long-term transportation planning policies and goals at the federal and state level to direct investment to transportation infrastructure that:

  • Reduces premature deaths, cancer, asthma, and other impacts through air pollution reductions
  • Reduces the incidence of obesity, high-blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and other conditions through active transportation
  • Improves safety for all transportation modes with an emphasis on reducing bicycle and pedestrian injuries and fatalities fatalities through the built environment.
  • Addresses the impacts experienced by disadvantaged low-income and communities of color and the disabled, elderly, and youth through health equity and environmental justice policies and goals.
