Attend California’s Office of Traffic Safety Conference – Scholarships Available

The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) is proud to present the “2011 OTS Leadership and Training Seminar” being held on April 20-22, 2011 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California. This Training Seminar offers courses targeting traffic, engineer, bicycle and pedestrian safety professionals. The courses are divided into eight 16-hour tracks focused on Driving Under the Influence (DUI) / Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST); Leadership; Drug Impairment; Collision Investigation; Traffic Enforcement; Community Safety; Engineering; and Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety.

To obtain scholarships: Participants in the Pedestrian/Bicycle track must obtain permission from Jill Cooper, Associate Director of SafeTREC, at cooperj@berkeley.edu, or call 510-643-4259. Scholarships up to $1,200 each will be offered to up to 50 participants.  We expect that both full and partial scholarships will be offered, and will depend on distance traveling and organizational ability to pay. Participants MUST attend the full seminar in order to 1) receive a certificate of completion. There certificates will need to accompany requests for reimbursement.

I’ll be moderating a panel on Safe Routes to School and engaging Law Enforcement. Hope to see you there!
