Agenda (subject to change):
We will discuss the major changes to Bay Area transportation funding approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) last month, including Safe Routes to School funding and how to ensure best practices are followed at the county level, and complete streets requirements.
We will also discuss a potential loophole in the One Bay Area Grant Program that may allow local jurisdictions to benefit from the funds but avoid compliance with the housing and complete streets policies that MTC mandated. This potential loophole is discussed in a letter from seven advocacy organizations to MTC.
Please contact Marty Martinez of the Safe Routes to School National Partnership with any questions at (415) 637-6488, Marty@saferoutespartnership.org, or Manolo González-Estay from TransForm at (510) 740-3131, mgonzalezestay@transformca.org.
